A lot of the recycled materials in this series of artworks are TOYS, used, in part, because I enjoy their color and humor. ( I've been both a toy collector and professional toy designer. ) But the toys are also symbols for the spirit of imagination that will aid us as the Earth moves into a new "childhood" of sorts:

It is becoming increasingly apparent that RECYCLING and RENEWABLE RESOURCES are the only way our civilization will survive. This doesn't have to be a "gloom and doom" scenario:

This series is made from almost-entirely recycled materials, yet, I believe I have succeeded in creating art that is esthetic and over-all very positive, even light-hearted! (Plus, businessman take note, my overhead is low!)

I offer it as a metaphor that the inevitable switch to a new, less wasteful way of thinking and living does not necessarily mean sacrifice and suffering, but a positive opportunity for a prosperous future.

Of course, you don't really HAVE to know all that to appreciate the pieces. It's entirely possible you'll enjoy them just because they're FUN!
